•1960’s the program turned to domestic groups that included the Ku Klux Klan, the Socialist Workers Party, and the Black Panthers Party.
•COINTELPRO was revealed to the public in 1971
•Program was terminated the same year because the American people and Congress for abridging first amendment rights.
